I was, pretty much. But do remember that I was born and raised in Louisville, so Midwestern chili with spaghetti in it is comfort food to me.

I give up! Can we at least have elbow macaroni, and not long pasta?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, Marsha, no offense, but elbow macaroni would be just plain weird. It's got to be spaghetti!

FORGET IT!

Everyone back away from the pasta. I'm going to ask you to all get on the floor, face down, with your hands over your head. DO NOT LOOK AT ME as I leave.

*hmph*

I can eat it without pasta (shrug) but it seems nekkid. Anyway, forget all that. Bask in your glory chili queen!

Marsha, I appreciated not having pasta of any kind in the chili! You actually made and served it how chili is supposed to be. Adding pasta just makes it interesting tasting spaghetti or something like that, not chili. These people that like pasta certainly aren't very well traveled or they'd realize how small the region is where pasta is added to chili!

I know this is a joking thread, but just for the record, I've traveled to all 50 states and to at least 40 countries in every continent except Antarctica, and I still don't mind spaghetti in my chili ... when I'm in the mood for childhood comfort food.

It's not about sophistication, Mark. It's about comfort, and what we grew up loving.

We'll just eat spaghetti then! Don't ruin chili by adding pasta.
