Gotta love the name, but it's totally new to me, and I don't think I've seen it mentioned here, unless it got by me while I was reading the forum on dialup from Italy last month.

Whoa, it's on YouTube!

Bizarre Cafe

It looks like fun! I thought you meant the Baxter nightclub strip, but this appears to be Baxter at Eastern Parkway, right? Maybe the building where, in Louisville Style, Aladdin's used to be?

I'm pretty sure it's where Benedict's - the short lived vegetarian cafe was. Newburg and Eastern Pkwy.

A little bit about us:

The Bizarre Cafe in The Highlands is located at 1521 Baxter Avenue (near the corner of Eastern Parkway and Newburg Road / Kentucky Liquors) where the old Benedict's Garden Cafe used to be. We're basically like an interactive Ripley's Believe it or Not with awesome food! We have really strange attractions and mysterious artifacts that you'll be able to play with or look at and laugh! Check out our wall of optical illusions! We have a really eclectic atmosphere where anyone and everyone can fit in.
We will be featuring awesome showcases that everyone can enjoy such as; a magician, GET YOUR PORTAIT DONE BY AN ARTIST, live music, and as always; our unique NINTENDO TABLE W/GAME MENU.
WE DELIVER TO THE HIGHLANDS

We serve: wraps, paninis, salads, fresh fruit, sandwiches, the worlds BEST chili, pizza pitas, frozen coffee blends, smoothies, HEINE BROTHERS COFFEE, etc!

GRAND OPENING MARCH 31ST...you won't want to miss it! We plan on having tons of fun stuff going on...dancing/skateboarding mascots, 50% off our entire menu, meet and greets by artists Braylyn Stewart and LAWSON, tons of local band members, promoters, gifts, games, giveaways, and so much more!

That's it, right past Tyler Park where Baxter changes name. I met the owner a couple of months ago at one of the underground parties I threw at DCE while we were still building out. He's a young guy (20something) and very real. He started the business with his ladyfriend and father. They want to provide a place where kids can congregate and have a place of their own.
They have veg & carnivore food, Heine Bros. coffee and old-school Nintendo.

After watching the video, I'd have to agree. That definitely looks like the former Benedict's space. And its vegetarian????

It sounds cool ... I hope that doesn't mean that gray-bearded Boomers aren't welcome, though! :)

Yeah I'm thinking that my Boomer gray dining dollars won't fit in too well with the kids who congregate.

I'll bet they're friendly, though. There are getting to be a few places around - Pink Door and Spinelli's come to mind - where I usually feel like everyone's grandfather when I go in.

But I really do think we (and our dollars) are welcome.

Of course you're welcome there... I brought my father and son with me and while the atomspher suited my son more than my father, Antonio made us all feel at home.
