....shut down?

That's the word from a buddy who works above it, who's boss is their landlord. Anyone confirm?

If so, that's :(

That also sucks because they are in the newest issue of Pizza Today magazine.

I would really hate to hear that! Some of the best pizza in town, and a great place! I thought it was popular! :(

The person that answered the phone said they are closed due to problems in kitchen. She said they should be open by the end of week.

I picked up a large Triple Cheese pizza with Garlic Knots on Sunday evening, and it was absolutely great so no telling when the kitchen went sour.

My same guy who told me the news initially just phoned, and he's drinking beer from their leftover kegs, while the landloard is showing the place to potential new tenants...

Take it fwiw. They shut down earlier this week b/c they had no money for food or payroll, pretty sure the 'kitchen problems' excuse was just to bide some time.......but, apparently they couldn't make it work.

Buddy said the new tentants still could possibly open the place again, as is.........or may be a new concept entirely.

Sad news. :(

Sadder than you think! They were going to be a big chunk of my LEO review for next week, and now I've got to flex on deadline! Well, past deadline, really ...

I don't know what the Leo would think about it, but you could still read about Hero's and just change the slant of the article. You can talk about how hard it is (was) for a new independent restaurant to get started especially in these economic times. Obviously quality food alone isn't enough to survive. Actually everything taken into consideration this could develop into a good story.

We've actually got some stuff like that coming in the Dining Guide at the end of October, Mark.

It wouldn't really be a good fit for the weekly review column, though, plus I wouldn't have had any time to work it out. Thanks for the suggestion, though!
