Benefit for Oak St. Pizza

by Matthew Landan » Mon Oct 06, 2008 3:58 pm

I will host a benefit here for Adam next thursday the 16th.
I will donate $1 of each beer sold to Adam.
Anyone want to drink to his health?
Come on over and hoist one for Adam and Oak St. Pizza.

We will have jazz music for your pleasure provided by the Outfit.
Please contact me if you'd like to get involved and donate something for a silent auction.

Excellent plan, Matthew. Count us in. I'd also be glad to come up with a bottle of fancy wine for the auction, and would suggest that you also consider opening a kitty for people who wish to throw in more cash than they can reasonably pile up at $1 per beer. :)

We will have the $1 drink donation from the house as well as a silent auction and a general donation bucket.
Thanks for your support with this.
We did a benefit here last month for an injured roller girl and raise close to $1000 when the evening was done.
I know we can do that for Adam and Oak St.
I'm just in shock over this.

Matthew's given the go-ahead for me to bring some cakes to sell by the slice, with all the proceeds going to the benefit fund. Empty your piggy banks, people!

Update: Matthew's graciously agreed to allow me to help organize donations and such for the benefit. If anyone has anything to donate you can contact either Matthew or myself by PM.

I will be glad to come and pick up any donations.

Note to the folks that love my cakes: We will be selling slices of cake at the benefit. I think I'll go with Lemon Sunshine, Splendiferous Coconut and Mighty-Mighty Pumpkin Cake. They will all go great with Matthew's coffee drinks. And beer. Lots of beer. Mark your calendars for the 16th! It's a great excuse to drive downtown and check out Matthew's shop. John and I went to a debate-watch party there last Thursday and fell in love with the place. Don't miss out!

This is great. Me and mine plan to be there. I don't know Adam, but we love his pizza and the business he was running. I will forward this far and wide.

Does anyone know an Auctioneer that might donate their services? While silent auctions are great, nothing whips the wallet open better than a live auction.

Marsha, we will be unable to attend the benefit for Adam on that night but I am putting in a request/bid/order for a whole Splendiferous Coconut Cake here and now. Our hopes and prayers for a speedy recovery for Adam.

Tony - so generous! Thank you.

I sent a mass message to many of the restaurant owners and chefs who regularly participate on the forum, and responses are coming in. I'm going to be a busy girl picking stuff up next week! 8)

We're having a really good response so far to our request for donations for the silent auction and/or stuff to sell at the benefit.

Hey, all you home gourmet people that recently canned things or are canning things this week - how about donating a jar? We need little things as well as big things, so people of all income levels can participate. I will be glad to come and pick up any donations.
