Sweet Surrender Storm Story

by Antonia L » Thu Sep 25, 2008 9:19 am

Here's a nice story from the week that was the aftermath of the Gusts of '08. Jessica at Sweet Surrender was going to loose all of her product due to the power outage. So, being the thoughtful person she is, she took it all over to the firehouse on Frankfort Ave. The firefighters had more cake than they knew what to do with! I heard they also called other firehouses nearby to come over and get some, because they couldn't eat it all.

Here's betting she gets a quick response should there ever be an emergency at Sweet Surrender.

The firefighters were definitely appreciative. They really do try to look out for the neighborhood on this end of Frankfort Avenue, so it was great to be able to offer them something. I ended up giving them 14 different types of cake. It was great to see their reactions as I opened the boxes to show them each cake. It was also pretty funny to see them handing other firefighters cakes through car and truck windows.
