I've been pondering why Golden Coral cusine was rated superior to Home Town Buffet? What makes a "better" steam table buffet?

Now that's one list I would proud to be included in!

BEST PLASTIC SURGEON (BREASTS) = Dr. Bradley Calobrace. You're right, this doesn't have anything to do with food or restaurants (although it might arguably have something to do with alcohol), but - Dr. Calobrace, if you're reading this: You don't know me, but I am 45 and could probably use your expertise. So if you're giving away holiday gift baskets or something, please feel free to contact me. Thanks, Marsha.

Shalimar's lunch buffet is much better than any of those choices. I would take Cravings over any of them for that matter.

i'll agree with Todd - any list that doesn't include the CPC is officially bogus !!

but, the funniest thing i saw on the list
the best dance clubs and the best queer bars are exactly the same - i guess its true - straight people got no rhythm

congrats to all the winners

most unbelievable result - La Rostia did not make the list for best mexican restaurant

Other discrepancies (is that how you spell that??)

yes, Anthony Lamas was mentioned but neither the Goose Creek location of Seviche as a new restaurant or either location for outdoor dining was mentioned at all.

how do you have a coffee shop discussion that includes starbucks but doesn't include Sunergos or Derby City Espresso??

How does Palermo Viejo not get mentioned at all??

serious ballot stuffing

Let's face it folks, the people who participate in this poll don't represent the readers of this forum. Most of them don't really appreciate good food and their tastes don't veer far from hamburgers and fries. They can't tell the difference between tapas and Tappan and probably haven't even heard of many of the restaurants we discuss here, let alone try them. The LEO "Best of" poll will never select the restaurants that we feel should be chosen.

I think you've hit the nail on the head, mark, and the same is true of Louisville Magazine's "Best of Louisville" awards. It's a popularity poll with a non-random group.

All that said, LEO didn't do too bad with Websites, though.

I think even more than that the problem is that many restaurants are not "top of mind" . There's a great deal of competition out there and without constant reminding people forget.
And before we start dissing LEO readers, did everybody in these forums vote? :?:

I voted. It took forever, but I voted. I did start thinking, "Who comes up with some of these categories?"

Yes! Thank you for naming the two most bizarre categories.

I would rank Thai Siam as the "least best" Thai restaurant in Louisville.

My review of the "Best of Louisville" list came to a screeching halt when I came across "Best Public Water Fountains" and "Best Public Restrooms"....that was enough.
