Pub owners planning downtown establishment.

I don't think I've seen this posted. The owners of O'Shea's Traditional Irish Pub, Flanagan's Ale House and Brendan's plan to open a yet-to-be-named, Irish-themed bar and restaurant at 123 W. Main St. near the Clark Memorial Bridge. This will be next door to the new arena. Sounds like great news to me.

That "independent chain" is just too pricey for my tastes. I ate there on Sunday; a basic, greasy sandwich and 2 bottles of domestic put me back $20 bucks (with tip).

Having said that, I'm all for generating money downtown, especially if local owners are involved. Anything but Cordish! I doubt I ever go - I'd make an exception if there is a rooftop bar, but I hope the bar is popular with the arena crowd.
Thinks the frosty mug is the low point in American history.
