My wife and I had a beautiful dinner at Corbett's tonight. Katt took care of us and did a wonderful job. The restaurant was about 60% of capacity around 7:30 so I assume that's good on a holiday weekend.
The food hit all the high notes well. The crispy sweetbreads were melt in your mouth delectable. The corn broth was like silky liquid corn...I loved it. I had duck and my wife had monkfish. Both main of our main courses were well thought-out and tasty. The portions were actually a bit on the large size (I'm not complaining). A bottle of Saintsbury pinot after cocktails worked well with 4 different main courses.
All in all a really great meal at what I'm hoping will become an iconic mainstay in the east end.
I'd like to see more desert wine options (I had a nice glass if Sauternes). I though the wine list was California "heavy" (I know it's an American Place). The french options were limited and pricey given what's available in the market place and given the level of the food served.
When it cools off I want to eat on the patio.
