New Impellizeris Open

by Eliza W » Thu Aug 21, 2008 7:09 pm

We stopped by the Impellizeri's in Holiday Manor. I'm happy to say the food is just like the Bardstown Rd location. Hardly anyone was there, and there was very little wait for the pie. The front of house staff was entirely made up of sweet little teenaged girls, and they were all eager to help and friendly.

I predict that this place will be packed once word gets out, but for now it's a very quick alternative to the original.

I was a participant in the opening last night, and I have to mention that the staff is exceptional. They all trained at the original, so there's no misstep in what they're doing. And I never did get to finish hearing Wes' explanation of why their pizza oven is so rare and cutting edge (he was pulled away to put out the proverbial fire), but I did get so far as "there are only ?40ish? in use around the country. And just to reiterate the staff: seriously, they're youngish men and ladies, but very cool. Congrats Impellizeri's!

Is it me, or is Holiday Manor becoming a mini foodieville? I don't remember all the names, but there is Emperor of China, Shiraz, a SE Asian place across the way from Shiraz, Mojito's and now Impellizeris. I may even be missing some. For one little shopping area, that is a lot of indie restaurants. I was just over there yesterday to have lunch at Shiraz. I need to check out Impellizeris and Mojito's. And this doesn't count the places over off Lime Kiln and in the Brownsboro Center.
Great food along with great company is truly one of lifes best treasures.

Don't forget the new Shariot venture that's also going in to Holiday Manor!
