Home Grown Indiana

by Aaron M. Renn » Tue Aug 19, 2008 1:31 pm

Sorry if this is a repeat topic, but I didn't find anything on it in a search.

There's a new book out on local foods in Indiana. It's called "Home Grown Indiana" and was written by Scott Hutcheson and Christine Barbour.

They also have a web site at http://www.homegrownindiana.com/ but I can't access it at the moment.

This includes local food producers, as well as select farmers markets, restaurants featuring locally grown food, and a list of wineries and micro-brews. The book covers the entire state, which includes southern Indiana, so there are some places you might find interesting that are nearby.

I already have my copy and think it is pretty good. I'll be giving some of these places a sample in the coming months.

Thanks for sharing. Too bad there are no good restaurants left in Southern Indiana to use local ingredients.
