My husband and I meet several friends and dine and shop downtown at the Bodega every Saturday morning! We're so used to eating and shopping here, but I realized in reading recent posts about downtown grocery stores or lunch spots that many people don't know it exists.
If you know where Mellilo's is... the Bodega is across the hall in the back of the Felice winery building and there's a parking lot too!
Where else can you go downtown, buy a bottle of dish soap, AND eat an Italian Pannini? They have a deli counter and offer indoor and outdoor dining. Sandwiches like the buffalo chicken on Lavash is a popular special that we've tried, as well as the lobster bisque.
The owners (Bob and Joey) are so accommodating that they are willing to stock preferential items like diet tonic water (for my husband) and gluten free crackers for me! If you can't find it, just ask!
Don't mean to sound like an ad, but just wanted ya'll to know. Here's their website:
