Bizarre cake find

by DeeDee D » Fri Aug 15, 2008 9:52 pm

Had to post this after my husband found this tonight! I have found this very disturbing. It's worse than the armadillo cake from Steel Magnolias!

I put vegetables in your desserts, white chocolate with your fish and other nonsense stuff that you think shouldn't make sense, but coax the nonsense into something that makes complete sense in your mouth. Just open your mind, mouth and eat.

Haha...I love this idea! It reminds me of when they have food challenges on Food Network to make one food look entirely like something else...brilliant!

That is definitely a unique cake!

It made me think of the cupcakes I recently came across on a random internet search. They were eaten by a vegetarian on Thangsgiving.

It reminds me of the scene from Firefly where Kaylee makes Simon a birthday cake that looks like a chocolate cake, but as she sets it down on the table, she notes she had to improvise by putting together whatever they had in the kitchen. "It's mostly protein," she says. They never got a chance to slice it open, and I always wondered what a "mostly protein" cake might look like.

Puts me to mind of Rachel's ground beef trifle on Friends- which only goes to prove Ethan's point in another thread.

Um,

My wedding shower was on April Fool's Day and we had one of those.

My husband declared it Best Cake Ever.

I think it was in reference to your post in another topic to avoid trifle.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

Ah!

You know, as much as I'd be inclined to say "avoid ground beef trifle", that in some ways is related to Shepard's/Cottage Pie (depending on how you make it).

I probably wouldn't order it at a restaurant, but it makes for damn fine eating at home.

I did say in my initial trifle argument, "don't order at a restaurant"... but by all means, eat what you wish at home.
