Oakroom segment apparently still alive at Food Network

by Robin Garr » Fri Apr 13, 2007 4:43 pm

This just in, a rather slow reply to my E-mail query to Food Network about when the episode with Chefs Todd and Duane might appear on Iron Chef America:

In response to your inquiry, the episode that will feature Todd Richards is IA0503. We're sorry but an air date for this episode has not been determined at this time. At the present time, we only have schedules through May.

OK, we have to gather at some place with a big screen and watch. This has just got to be a Forumite outing.

You have to assume you'd be the last to know...

Confirmation

by BDKollker » Thu Oct 25, 2007 1:14 pm

Chef Todd has just asked me to confirm the date and time of December 2nd at 9:00pm as the first airing of the episode. You can see the other dates and times on Food Networks website under the Cora vs. Richards episode.

Hope everyone enjoys watching as much as we enjoyed doing it!

Prost!

The BBC Taproom is still available. We have two 30" TV's and space for 30 or so people. Bring a dish to share?

Please feel free to deride this idea if it is too silly:

Fashion a potluck around the "secret ingredient" from the show. Will one of the participants share that info?

I think that's a spectacular idea! A sort of local Iron Chef based on Iron Chef!

I don't know if Todd, Duane, BK and Co. are contractually obliged to keep the ingredient a secret, but if there's any way we could discreetly obtain that info, I'd love to give it a try.

Or as an alternative, if that's just not going to happen, maybe we could still organize it as an "Iron Chef Potluck" and designate *some* secret ingredient that we'd all use for inspiration?

Sounds like fun to me.

I just hope I don't have to make a cake out of squid or something.
