Coco's Chocolate Cafe

by carla griffin » Thu Aug 07, 2008 2:29 pm

After all this time I finally made it out there today. Why did I wait so long? All his chocolates are made on site by hand. I had Passion fruit and mango infused and enrobed milk chocolate heart. (Very sparkly piece of bright chocolate) , a Sweet Mother (dark chocolate and raspberries - oh my!) a sweet and sour Tuscany (strawberries and balsamic vinegar enrobed in dark chocolate - fantastic with a tiny bit of tang) something (the name escapes me) with a great deal of very fine cinnamon that was almost my favorite and my favorite ... chocolate covered orange peel. So simple but if not done properly can be gummy and mphfff. This was lovely. Very thin orange peel candied just a bit, cut into a wedge instead of a strip which offers more orange taste, then dipped on a very thin crisp coating of dark chocolate. It snapps a bit when you bite into it then melts softly on the roof of your mouth. I can't wait for the cooler weather to get here so I can safely transprt a bunch home with me. Bubble bath and champagne time.

I've been dying to trice this place. Nice to know it's as mouthwateringly worthy as I hoped it would be.

I've had the pleasure of trying several of their chocolates at events that we've done together, but haven't yet made it into the cafe. And it's right by my house! The cafe hours are too similar to mine, sadly.

However, I can say that Fred is an amazing chocolatier and I highly recommend giving Coco's a try.

As much as I love chocolate, I'd be in soooo much trouble if I lived close to that place.

Great place. High quality. And they seem to be doing a good business.
