Subzero deli in Okolona - Ehrler's Ice Cream

by JW Purple » Sun Aug 03, 2008 10:49 pm

I visited a new sub-sandwich and icecream spot in Okolona today called Subzero. It's located on Preston Hwy south of the Kohl's shopping area on the West side of the road in a strip mall on old Preston St (near Antle Rd).

It's pretty much a Subway clone, but well done, and it's a one-off thing, not a franchise. As a BIG bonus, they serve generous portions of Ehrler's icecream at very low prices. About a dozen flavors.

A little out of the way for many folks, but if you're in the area, they seem to be very nice folks.

Thanks. I live around the corner from here and didnt know this was here. After a bit of searching I did find it and will give it a shot the first chance i get.

This place is actually located in the Maryville Shoppe shopping center which is on the corner of Hillview Blvd (aka Maryville Dr) and Old Preston in Hillview. I look forward to the ice cream. We have to go up toward Southern High School or over on Smyrna for an ice cream now.

Glad to hear they finally got the ice cream going in this place. While I still owned my pizza shop I tried to talk the guy at Ehrler's to let me sell his ice cream. He wasn't ready for any retail shops, but was working with these people to set the foundation for it later. Looks like it took longer then he had thought.

I didn't go to the deli, but they are still selling Ehrler's at the UL football games. Today, I had a gigantic, freshly dipped double scoop ice cream delight in a waffle cone consisting of butter pecan and cookies and cream. OMG, I had a toungasm or 3. All for only 6 bucks. Trust me, at the stadium, that's a super price for such a wonderful treat.
Great food along with great company is truly one of lifes best treasures.

The ice cream shop out on Dixie Hwy, close to Stonestreet, offers Ehrler's. The name of the place escapes me, but if you didn't know any better, you would think that you walked into the "Pie Kitchen".
