The gentleman asked me how I heard about Jasmin Bakery and I told him through Louisville HotBytes forum. He then proceeded to give me one apple and one cherry turnover, free of charge. An extremely charming gentleman who knows his breads. If you haven't treated yourself to this bakery, YOU NEED TO! Oh my goodness .. it is so very good.

Since I was also in the neighborhood, I stopped at Alwatan Bakery (3711 Klondike Lane). Listen to this bounty .... all for $19.56.
20 fresh baked pitas
4-15,5 oz. cans chickpeas
7 ozs. Ground Cumin
32 ozs. tahina
If I wasn't restricting my calories, there would have been baklava on that list ... Alwatan baklava is one of my favorite treats in Louisville (plus, I have the aforementioned turnovers to deal with!). Their pita is baked fresh daily and is so very good with homemade hummus!
Both of these local bakeries are gems hidden in the Hikes Point / Beuchel neighborhood. They are worth the drive. I PROMISE that you will not be disappointed.
(Disclaimer: I have nothing to gain from either one of these bakeries except girth.)
