Pub Snacks pairing & Dogfish Head drafts

by Roger A. Baylor » Mon Jul 28, 2008 3:05 pm

As noted previously, tonight's "Pub Snacks, Revisited" beer and food pairing at NABC is fully subscribed. Thanks to all, and I look forward to seeing attendees tonight.

Also, this week NABC has six fairly uncommon Dogfish Head ales on draft:

Come on... Lest not forget Andrew McCabe in the props too.

I know both of these guys repeatedly tested the recipes to get them perfect in my kitchen (Andy is my roommate) night after night; after working all night at Le Relais.

It was very much a joint-effort collaboration with the entire creative process.

I only say this because I know they both slaved equally in pulling this together - Just because he's a pastry chef on paper doesn't mean he doesn't know savory.
Andy and i both have found ourselves in accidental pastry chef roles, after having no initial interest in it (culinary degrees, not pastry degrees).

Some of us can play both sides of the kitchen very well and competently... (Marsha at Cafe Lou Lou is another example in town)

...I'm only bummed out that the perpetual stock of "testing" NABC growlers in the fridge has came to a close.

I put vegetables in your desserts, white chocolate with your fish and other nonsense stuff that you think shouldn't make sense, but coax the nonsense into something that makes complete sense in your mouth. Just open your mind, mouth and eat.
