Non-alcoholic drink recipes?

by Adam C » Tue Jul 15, 2008 7:04 pm

Hello all. Like many people around Louisville, I love my bourbon Manhattans and a nice Mojito every now and then (not to mention my affinity for the local brew at Cumberland and Rich-O's) but lately I have wanted a nice/out of the ordinary drink without the worry of drunkeness on any level. And cokes and regular iced tea have become a bit boring.

I am looking for more recipes for non alcoholic drinks and thought this would be a good place to get some ideas. I'm not a bartender and I have hit a wall with my own ideas. I'll start with my current favorite:

Club soda w/ a healthy splash of either orange or pineapple juice. (Pineapple is better IMO.) Not very creative I know but still: YUM.

Please add your own!

Some bars carry tomato juice (all full bars carry bloody mary mix, but I think that's just disgusting by itself). Instead of a virgin mary, try tomato juice with garnishes - celery, pickes, olives, carrots, what ever they typically serve with their bloody mary. High sodium, but great with an egg sandwich on a Sunday afternoon.

Why not order an interesting alcoholic drink w/o the booze. You can also ask the barkeep what he/thinks would be good?
Great food along with great company is truly one of lifes best treasures.

Nothing personal, but "non-alcoholic beer" seems like an oxymoron to me.
