We both agreed that there was a "chain" feel about the place in terms of the decor, but it stopped there. Everything about our meal and service felt very personalized and indie-like. The place is very ritzy inside and extremely clean. Our server was David and he was quite prompt and accommodating. We started with the Bruschetta and it was on the large size for a starter, but very robust and flavorful. We then split a arugula salad which featured Gorgonzola and a Gorgonzola dressing with crushed walnuts and grilled apples. It was exceptional. Very fresh and a fun mix of flavors. My entree was the cannelloni stuffed with roasted chicken and my wife had the Alfredo. Both dishes were right-sized and filled us up. My cannelloni appeared hand-rolled and was stuffed with a chicken/herb blend that was well complimented by the marinara sauce and melted cheese. My wife said her alfredo sauce was spot on and really enjoyed the ham and chicken in the dish (I was a bit dubious about the ham...)
We finished with a tiramisu and we both agreed that while it was good, there was a noted absence of coffee flavor in the ladyfingers. The mascarpone was tasty however.
Overall we greatly enjoyed our visit. I was rather impressed with the open air kitchen and the wood oven. We even got a coupon for a return visit (buy one/get one) which means we will definitely be back soon!
not bad for a chain...
