After living in Louisville for nearly all of my life, the exception of the 6 years in Danville and 2 years in Carmel, IN. I scored- 50% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.

Southern, by the grace of God.

I'm a lifelong resident of the Ville. I somehow scored a 97% Dixie on that fun little exercise. I really need to find the link to another site I like and post it here. Last year there were some vehement opinioins and some facts posted about whether Louisville is Southern or not. It was at http://www.skyscrapercity.com.

A neat link describing what Louisville means to others.

It is interesting as well as humorous and maybe even a bit factual. Beware, there may be some content that one could be Imusized for saying. LMAO.

I scored 43% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.

Suppose that's largely due to being born in central Michigan and spending the first 8 or so years of my life, and vacationing there every summer until i was 15.

Looks like I'm the farthest from Southern (so far) out of this bunch.

I put vegetables in your desserts, white chocolate with your fish and other nonsense stuff that you think shouldn't make sense, but coax the nonsense into something that makes complete sense in your mouth. Just open your mind, mouth and eat.

Hey Youse guys!
I'm ashamed to say I got a 38. Living in KY for the last 20 years can't compete with the 27 years spent in NJ.

Whew!! Still part Yankee....

by Suzi Bernert » Sun Apr 15, 2007 8:46 pm

I scored 41%, but some questions had multiple answers like addressing a group of people - say Yins (raised in W. PA), youse (lived in NJ for years) and ya'll (25 years in KY) depending on the group and circumstances. If I go to a class reunion they say I sound southern, here I sound Northern.

Yankee - barely

by Doug W » Sun Apr 15, 2007 9:36 pm

I scored a 50% - barely into Yankee. Surprising - I was born and raised in Chicago. I suppose 15 years in Kentucky has had its effect on me. I do take issue with some of the phrases not attributed to the midwest, but, oh well.

Cheers,

Doug.

76% i guess being raised "northern" of here really isnt so north (evansville). I'm glad they had the question about carbonated beverage. Because everything is coke to me no matter what the flavor and i always get hackeld about that.

I did the quiz. I'm "49% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category".

I noted that there were a couple things I said differently as a child than I do today. I say "soft drinks" today, but said "cokes" as a kid. The same thing with "crawfish" versus "crawdad".
