Has anyone tried the new Caspian place next to Days coffee?

by Solomon Gayman » Wed Jul 09, 2008 3:06 pm

It appears to be similar to shiraz but I'm not sure if it's just opened or if they are still working on it.

We tried it the first day they were open. I had a chicken kabob and rice plate that was pretty good. Nothing necessarily to write home about but definitely worth walking to since it's in the neighborhood. I really liked their hummus though. I'll be going back for another visit.

I did check out the menu the other day and it looks a little simple. I had three young-uns in tow - therefore not ideal for our lunch - but my experience with small and moderately priced menus is usually positive.

It's only funny if it was a typo

I also was in there for their first day "soft opening" lunch.
They've done a nice job fixing up the place. I spoke to one of the two brother/owners.
It's their first real restaurant and they're still working on the menu.
Interestingly, Magid, the owner of Saffron's was there (a friend of the owners) and what I had (the chicken kabob and rice) were prepared very much like the way they are at Saffron's.

Since I am not familiar with "Gay's coffee", would someone tell me where this new place is located?

LOL
Day's coffee on Bardstown near Edenside.
The "misprint" is a pun about some of their clientele

For some reason, I doubt it's a misprint. Anyhow, until some more favorable posts come along, Shiraz is my choice.

This topic subject line continues to bother me. There is nothing funny about it nor was it a typo. I do wish our host would edit it. I'm appalled that someone on this board would feel comfortable posting this as a descriptor.

Yeah, I'm missing the humor here, completely. I too wish the subject could be corrected and the low boil homophobia would be put away.

I've heard it referred to as such for years both lovingly and un-lovingly.
I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

I am kind of a big deal.

That can be arranged. At least in the initial post. :)
