Havana Beverage Company

We've just recently found the diet Havana Mojito soda at Lotsa Pasta and we really enjoy them. It's a home grown company right here in Louisville. Does anyone know anything about the founders/owners?

The daughter of a friend of mine is married to the owner/developer. I know that doesn't really answer year question Ed. However I have copied the following from their website http://havanabeverages.com/

Havana Cola and Havana Mojito were created by a Cuban born American entrepreneur in the early 1990s. Her dream was to create magical drinks. Beverages that captured the essence of beautiful beaches on moonlit nights . . spicy cuisine . . . salsa music and dancing . . . and did justice to legendary cocktails like the Cuba Libre and the Mojito.

In 2006, Havana Beverages was purchased by Sandy Nixon, a pioneer in product innovation and founder of FB3 Development, the premier development and manufacturing incubator for the food and beverage industry. He reformulated the products and focused on all-natural flavors and ingredients.

You can usually find them Saturday morning at the Beargrass Christian Church Farmer's Market.

The Havana Cola is by far my favorite soft drink. Real cane sugar, cola, and lime. Plus it's a home town product to boot. I limit myself to about 2 a week to save my wasteline. Available at Doll's Market and Whole Foods. Doll's carries their entire line of drinks....about 4 total.

I love Havana Cola & Mojito... they are based on East Market St and are active participants in the community.
It's a great innovative little drinks company...
Look for more products coming from them soon!

The owners name is Sandy Nixon. He is the founder/owner of FB3 (FB cubed), a new food incubator. I belive what he does is help you get your new food product into the market. Nice guy and one of the sponsors of Fridays free P-Funk show.

Sandy's family knows a little about successful sodas. They own DD Williamson, which is one of Coke's largest caramel coloring/flavoring suppliers.

I seem to remember reading (I thought it was in this forum but maybe not) that SYSCO Foods is now distributing Havana colas. Not exclusively I don't think but for those further out restaurants that may want to carry them on their menus.

I tried all the varieties at the P-Funk show and was delighted with the quality. If only I had some rum to mix with it...
