Thank you! This was quite a surprise. I poured the beer shown in the picture (beautiful job by Mr. Nation!) and did a quick interview with Editor Bruce for what I was told to be a future "drinks" article.

Congrats indeed, although it should probably be noted that a wide variety of Louisville-area eateries, from Tony Boombozz to Vincenzo's, won Best of Louisville awards and are listed in the current edition of Louisville magazine. Congrats to 'em all!

Today's Scene has St.Matthews/4th Street advertising the award winning beer from Main Street. I realize they serve the bottled version from Main, but is it misleading? Also, who are the Brownings investors?

(We had a nice low key non 4th of July yesterday. Went to the track briefly for WAKY bday. Crossed the river, to drive down Utica Pike - looking for restaurants on the waterfront beginning at Jeff heading east. Recommendations? Saw only a couple. The one at Jeff doesn't have its liquor license. Counting down til sometime in August. Looked inside at the new Bristol for future reference. Easy on/off from 2nd street bridge. I can see a trolley from there to UofL games. Pregame and/or post game events. Spend the night. Went to the Tap Room. Next, missed the Espresso 4th. Looked closed. Craving the antipasta at Melillos - closed. Understandable. Headed to St.M. to Brendans, walked through Crescent HIll 4th, then home. So many options in Louisville.)

Not at all misleading. Jerry Gnagy, brewmaster for the BBC St. Matthews & 4th St., has won a whole sack of awards for his beers in a broad range of categories. Jerry is also known by his secret identity, Jerald Gnagy. Jerry's blog, above link takes you there, is on my daily read list right after The Potable Curmudgeon.

Jerry trained Cumberland Brews' new brewer, Cameron Finnis.

I believe the bottled BBC beers are sold for carry-out only for those that don't want to tote a growler.

Ellen P wrote:Also, who are the Brownings investors?

I'm not sure of the names, but they are all local. Call them and ask, 515-0714.

Congratulations to David, Joel, Chris and everyone at BBC Clay Street Live!
The accolades are well deserved after years of dedicated work to your craft.
(Also the BBC Challenge is an excellent local "mocumentary")
http://www.bluegrassbrew.com/

I had a jolly good APA at the Tap Room Friday night and then walked to DCE for a tasty Espresso Stout.

Life is great in the Louisville area with fantastic local brewed beer. (Other good choices: St. Matthews BBC, Cumberland, Browning's + New Albanian Brewing Company!)
