Trader Joe's Rumor again...

by Melissa Richards-Person » Fri Jun 27, 2008 11:06 am

So yesterday I was in a meeting, and heard that pesky Trader Joe's rumor again. I'm beginning to think that the whole "TJ's is coming to Louisville" thing is an urban legend - on the order of "Mikey ate Pop Rocks while drinking Coke and died"

However, since there do tend to be some commercial real estate folks that lurk on the board, I thought I would ask the question again - any new news? The rumor variation I heard this time was Shelbyville Rd. Last one I heard was Westport Village.....

PLEASE pass this on! I heard from a woman who works with my co-worker's sister that Barack Obama, if elected to the Presidency, will be sworn in on aisle 18 of Trader Joe's. Not only that, but a friend went to Trader Joe's, and her cell phone kept getting telemarketing calls while in the store. Also, unless you send this message to ALL your friends by next Tuesday, all of the Pillsbury cans in Trader Joe's everywhere will explode!!! This is not a lie! If you love food, you will pass this on!!!!

Melissa, what is this place you speak of? I checked out the website. What's wrong with this place. I have never heard of it before. Under coming soon, Louisville was not listed as a new location. I'm a Realtor in Indiana, and somewhat "in the know" and I have not heard about this place coming to the area. If I do, I will let you know....

The only vacant building I can think of on Shelbyville Road is the old Wild Oats location. It however doesn't seem to match the normal type of location for TJ's.

Interesting tidbit: Trader Joe's is owned by the same German company that owns Aldi. There are no TJs near where I live, but whenever we're visiting a town that has them we stop by.

A glass of Two Buck Chuck, anybody?

I would LOVE to see a trader joe's in Louisville, but neither Shelbyville Rd or Westport Village seem to make sense to me!

IT NEEDS TO BE DOWNTOWN!!!

As long as grocery stores are unable to sell wine we may be waiting a long time to buy Two Buck Chuck locally.

Don't you need help getting money out of Nigeria too? I'm ready to send my bank account #'s. Just say the word.

Now where did I put my aluminum foil hat...

You'll be waiting even longer . . . it's only "two buck" west of the Rockies.

You all are too funny!! My sides hurt.......

By the way, no wonder I saw an Aldi in Belgium, I did not know it was owned by a German co.
They all look the same too..... not too good.
