OWNERS PLEASE READ - Unique Advertising Opportunity!

by Gretchen D. » Thu Jun 26, 2008 4:49 pm

With permission from our gracious host, Robin, I am pleased to share with you a unique advertising opportunity.

The Kentucky Shakespeare Festival is offering a wonderful opportunity for you to gain a unique bit of Shakespearience! Just like local restaurant owners can bring out the best flavors using local ingredients, Shakespeare can also bring out the best talent in local youth. The Kentucky Shakespeare Festival is in it's 48th season of providing FREE classical theatre and quality outreach programs, including Free Will in Central Park. This year the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival is offering a one of a kind advertising position within the Shakespeare Youth Academy playbill that will be distributed among patrons during Family Week, July 16-20th. Target demographics will be both diverse and unique, thus allowing you to reach the greatest number of potential patrons possible. All proceeds from this campaign will be reserved for the Shakespeare Youth Academy Scholarship fund which provides tuition for children to attend summer Shakespeare Camp and perform on stage in Central Park prior to the evening's headline production.

This is truly an event the whole family can enjoy generation after generation. Our children have participated for the past three years, and learning about Shakespeare has been an invaluable educational experience. In fact, come out tomorrow evening at 6:30 P.M. to see them perform in A Midsummer's Night Dream in Central Park in Old Louisville, followed by the evening's main event, Julius Caesar at 8 P.M., FREE!

Thanks, Gretchen.

Please PM me for more information, or check out the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival's website http://www.kyshakes.org. I will be delighted to personally deliver or mail the necessary paperwork to your business.
The deadline for submission is July 8th.

Become inspired and artistic in showing your support for this dynamic local cultural art event.

Ad specifications are as follows:

Business Card Horizontal: 3.5"x1.75", $25
Quarter Page Horizontal:4.75"x1.875", $50
Half Page Horizontal: 4.75"X3.75", $100

I can directly email electronic file specifications, and quality laser paper copies of art are also acceptable.

The festival is great. For those of you who have not been, you should attend.

The price is right .. free .. donations accepted .. but not pushed.

The absolute best arts value in town. Worth the time for both youngsters and adults.

It really is a wonderful institution. I was privileged enough to work there for three seasons oh so many years ago.
One day I was stopped by a slew of neighborhood kids who surrounded me and asked if I was in the show. I thought "Oh Oh!" and said yes. They then did a 5 minute take on one of the scenes from MIdsummer Night's Dream each of them playing a different role.
In retrospect it was one of the highlights of my many years of acting, being able to bring Shakespeare to life for kids that possibly wouldn't have seen it otherwise.

Please please please support our Kentucky Shakespeare Festival either by buying the advertising, attending or donations. Very often this is the initial (and in some cases only) exposure to theater that many children in Louisville get. We're lucky that here in Louisville we seem to have an abundance of dramatic arts venues as options of interest to offer our children. Unfortunately these programs don't get the funding or attention that other more popular avenues get - like sports. For me it makes more sense for a child to learn to act on a stage than to act out socially.

Thanks, Caroline! You can email me directly at idahodillies@hotmail.com.

And thanks for the PM, Mark... I will be calling you tomorrow!

I appreciate all the positive comments regarding the festival and the wonderful opportunity to expose children to the theatre. We felt so fortunate to discover the summer programs our first year in town. We had a great time Friday night watching our children perform and seeing Julius Caesar.

There was a huge crowd, so I am sure you will be able to reach alot of people.
