Home Run Burgers and Fries

by robert szappanos » Wed Jun 25, 2008 9:57 pm

Has anyone been there. They are at 2060 S. Hurstbourne Parkway near Taylorsville Road. Have been reading about it on louisvillemojo.com and has been getting very good rewiews....Most like it much better then Kailens or WW Cousins to mention a few....The Beef is fresh...never frozen...like Wendys does....

Never been to Home Run, but it will have to be top notch to better WW Cousins. I'm not terribly fond of Kaelin's but I love me some burgers from Cousins! DD

I've been to Homerun Burger. It's a decent burger at an average price.

I have not been to Hometown Burgers either. But try Turkey Joe's, they have the juiciest burgers. Really tasty.

Where and what is Turkey Joe's? Sounds interesting.

WW Cousins is an all time fav. It was my "day off treat" for quite a while.

Turkey Joe's is near Westport on North Hurstbourne. Marty gave it a decent CJ review a couple of weeks ago.

I dine at Turkey Joe's on a regular basis and love the place. They have a good variety including what I would consider to be pub grub, full dinners, great burgers and other sandwiches, a huge selection of side orders, meals for the kiddos and some nice daily specials. My favorites are Joe's burger, the Double Dare You wings and the fried turket dinner. The food is great, there is plenty of value to be had and the service is just really friendly. I have never been there when the chef hasn't been strolling through making sure everybody is enjoying their meal.

Here is a link so you can find out more and view the menu. http://turkeyjoes.com/

Any place that serves turkey and gravy with the sides is a place I need to investigate. Although I don't make it to that end of town very often I will keep it in mind whenever I do. Thanks!

Turkey Joe's is tucked into the corner, and it can be hard to spot if your not looking for it because of a newly constructed building. Its located in the same strip mall as the Tony Boombozz. The Turkey dinner was very good, a little too heavily peppered on the exterior for my taste but the tenderness of the meat itself was great. The wing sauce selection is quite varied in my opinion, and splashing them across the tradition chicken wings (boned or boneless) as well as much more threatening turkey wings.
The 'net is a waste of time, and that's exactly what's right about it.

Well, I was going to get a burger, but then my husband mentioned the Hot Brown. So I got the Hot Brown instead. It was pretty good, it came with 2 sides and I had the mashed potatoes and mac n' cheese (just like Grandpa use to make). It was just good comfort food. My husband had the Bacon Cheeseburger and my son had wings. I was to full to have dessert, but I have had their Peanut Butter Pie, which is heavenly.

They are just so friendly there. They were short handed tonight and Chuck, one of the owners, took our order and served us. We go once or twice a month and I usually try something different and have never been disappointed.

I have had Home Run Burger many times. It is a very tasty hamburger. Fries are OK, hotdogs are hotdogs. They recently added chicken fingers to the menu.

They have a fairly large list of toppings, included at no extra charge. Burgers are big and as I said, very good.

I recommend it.
