Napa River

by Mark R. » Sat Jun 21, 2008 9:48 pm

My wife and I went by Westport Village this evening to see what was going on for the grand opening and saw that Napa River was open in the new location. I assume this means the old one is closed. Does anybody know the status of the new Wild Eggs that is supposed to open there?

Question:

Is Wild Eggs moving or opening another store?

Opening another store. I think the plan all along was to develop it into a mini-chain.

Yes. They moved to the new Westport Village location on June 16.

I haven't heard anything about the future of the old place, but you might be interested to know that the new Napa River Grill has a very similar patio, complete with grape vines!

I originally had heard that a medical office was going in there. I haven't heard anything in awhile and it makes sense since everything else is medical.

That spot was always kind of out of the way for a restaruant, even back when it was Mama Grisanti's.
When in doubt, add more wine.

Any anyone been to napa since the new opening? I'm might be a little bias but i believe they made a good call. The new inside is awsome along with the patio i wish them all the best of luck. Shane, JD, and Chef Dave. The menu sounds really good and i can't say enough about how nice the new place looks. Best of luck!!!!!

I heard they did 10 times their normal business on Sunday. It seems that whole neighborhood is really embracing the Westport Village. Now, when will they build access to Westport Rd. from the Watterson?

They are constructing that segment of the Watterson now. My biggest fear for that whole development has been access...with Westport now 4 lanes and the interchange in progress I hope that synergy builds.

I really hope I'm wrong about this, but didn't the '08 legislature's budget shenanigans put this off?

I don't know those details, but they have been obviously clearing for an exit ramp for the past month on the west side of the Watterson and are mid-process widening the overpass to accomodate 6 lanes of traffic. I assume that they have to complete the Westport Rd interchange before they can re-model and expand at US 42.
