Another Tico??

Rumor is that Taco Tico will be opening at the old Wendy's on Preston Hwy near Outer Loop.....July??

That will save the drive to Terry Rd!

FYI .. they just repaved the parking lot this week and have a vinyl wrapped car sitting out front exclaiming "Taco Tico is Back!" or some such advertisement, so it shouldn't be long now. I would guess maybe this weekend? Would make sense, but then again most stuff doesn't anymore.

I find it amazing that the South End has something I crave; And they are building another one "Out There" as well....

I would gladly trade out a Red Robin for a Taco Tico!.....Green Sauce Rules!

With Las Gorditas on Bardstown Road....I have no other craving for tacos in this city. My appologies to Taco Tico fans.

Well, yeah, but it's like two different kinds of food! Like a Texas bowl of red vs a bowl of Skyline's finest! Sometimes Taco Tico just fills a need ...

(Don't overlook the neat little Buenos Dias Cafe up on the north side of Jeff, either. It's lovable!

It isn't about the tacos......it is the chili burrito and the sancho and the taco burger and the ....well, you get my drift!

The new location is now open in Okolona.

I too think that Las Gorditas takes the cake. However, their hours can sometimes be a bit inconvenient. I plan on me and and Taco Tico having a 20ish year reunion.

I don't know if there have been changes, but as of my review earlier this summer:

Unless the weather is so icy or windy as to make towing the trailer hazardous, Las Gorditas opens year-round, starting Fridays at 6 p.m., Saturdays at 4 p.m., Sundays at 3 p.m. and Mondays at 6 p.m. It’s open until 11 p.m. or as long as people keep coming: They’ve been known to keep on serving into the wee hours. They also take phone orders for those who prefer to call ahead and have dinner waiting.

Note also that in the very same shopping center, the excellent new DakShin Indian has Indian street food, "Chaat," every night, so it would be an intriguing foodie experience to stroll from Las Gorditas to DakShin sampling delicious (and cheap) bites from two continents.
