Just had a pecan danish from Nord's this morning and it could be the best pastry I've ever had. If you have not been to Nord's, put it on your list.

That thing just might be a Nords' pecan danish.

Lots of votes here for Nords, Krispy Creams, Bussman and I have to agree they are all great,( OK, KC's are more than great, they're legendary) But for me these days when I think of doughnuts I think of Small Times Bakery. Usually it's when I'm wanting something different. Turtle doughnuts, Pina Colada doughnuts , banana cream filled. They're like the Graters of doughnuts. Unfortunately I don't live anywhere near close to them so I can't get there early in the morning.

I've had pretty much everything at Small Times except for the doughnuts.

The Bakery has the best chocolate cake doughnuts I have ever had. They are moist and chocolatey, and the icing is FUDGE! I also really like their apple spice doughnuts.
