Rehearsal Dinner

by Sara D » Mon Jun 16, 2008 3:58 pm

Hello all,

I have been reading this forum for a while, but this is my first time posting.

I am looking for suggestions on a good place to host a rehearsal dinner. The ceremony will be in Jeffersonville, so I'd like something in the southern Indiana, downtown Louisville area (or another part of Louisville that would be a short drive away). There will be approximately 30 people so somewhere that has a private or semi-private room would be nice. Also, I need something that is within a reasonable budget and with a bit of variety for all the picky eaters in the family. I would like to avoid a buffet if possible. I have called several places in the area but nothing has been a good fit so far.

Thanks in advance for any help!

A few years ago I attended a rehearsal dinner at North End. They pulled the curtain across the doorway and gave us the entire front room. It was very private but we also received excellent service. There were several selections for each course.

I believe the new Bristol location is doing such events. They are tied to the new Sheraton on the river. Ask for Scott Harper he may be able to help.

I haven't been there since exchange format but Stratto's used to be very good before their change to being a party house and their new menu looks very good. You may want to give them a call and talk over your needs. It's certainly a very lovely location and would provide a nice quiet atmosphere for you unlike several of the other places mentioned. I do feel that North End would be a good choice as far as food goes however.

I second the Bristol at the new Sheraton
Don't know much about Stratto's and their new situation, but it would have been a good choice in the past.
Downtown I would suggest Bistro 301 - great food reasonable pricing - For Italian Mellilo's they can usually work with any budget and request.
For a bit more high end but also reasonable with private dining would be Park Place on Main

Hope this helps
Kurt

Sorry for the confusion here, but that is the website and menu's I was making before I quit Stratto's. The new management does not have access to it and I am almost positive that the menu's have changed. I will take down the website today as to avoid further confusion  .

Here is a link to the website that Stratto's owns: http://www.strattosrestaurant.com

*It's VERY out of date, sorry.

Sara, a friend of mine threw me a baby shower at Stratto's and it was beautiful! We had one of the rooms all to ourselves. There were probably 30 or so guests there and it was very private and cozy. Everyone commented that it was the best baby shower they ever attended. But, like others have said, I'm not sure what's going on there now, but it's worth checking out. Good Luck!
