Roger, pizza and suds @ Saturday NABC offline!

by Robin Garr » Wed Jun 11, 2008 5:20 pm

It's been in the planning stages for so long that many may not realize our Saturday afternoon offline with Roger, pizza and suds (or non-alcoholic bevs for those who prefer) is coming up this weekend, on Saturday, June 14, at 1 p.m., at New Albanian Brewing Co. a.k.a. RichO's.

I expect it would be no problem to handle last-minute walk-ins, but to keep things organized, if you expect to go, please drop over to the discussion in Offlines Forum and check in.

The employee on duty Saturday on the pub side is Josh, and he'll take care of everyone until I get there. He's expecting you. I'll not be able to make it until about 2:00 p.m., but will get there as soon as possible.

Wow, that was major fun! I took some pictures, posted below. Roger's place is so warm and inviting, with all sorts of nooks and crannies and interesting tchochkes and furniture and posters and artwork - I can't say enough about how great it is. Josh took excellent care of us, and SeanS blew us away with his cranberry homebrew. We even had some lurkers meet us there! (Nicole S, I'm looking for your first post any time now!) And I got to meet the fabulous Jackie R. - I just wish we would have met sooner!

Alas, Dan Thomas didn't show up, pants or pantsless (see the offline planner thread for an explanation) - I imagine he's running scared of my BLT skills (see the offline planner forum for THAT explanation, heh.)

I was there with good intentions of coming out and meeting people, but beer and other conversations kept me from getting over to the room you all were in. When I did finally get out there, most everyone had packed it in and left. Curse you beer!.... no wait, I really did not mean that beer, please forgive me! Anyway, sorry I did not get a chance to meet up with anyone. Maybe next time!

Roger, thank you for a fabulous time. I knew that had to be your truck - it was, wasn't it? We had so much fun. You should annex a no-tell motel near your digs so we Kentuckians can spend the evening at your place!

Yes, it's my truck. I should have been bicycling, though. There are persistent rumors of a motel on the IUS side of the interstate, but not yet.

What a great place and what a great time. In one visit, Roger, you have won over two more loyal customers. The pizza was exceptional (and we demand the "Carol C." pizza be placed on the menu, just as soon as Carol writes up her special instructions for you!) and the beers were splendid!

Aimee and I had an awesome time hanging out with everyone!

Roger we love the place, especially how the vibe totally changes from room to room and the wise use of unique spaces! We love the "Red Room."

Looking forward to many more visits to NABC! :D :D :D
