One of my Favorites

So, a friend of mine was recently celebrating her 67th birthday and Forrest and I invited her out to dinner. She told us to pick the place and she would love to join us. We tossed a few ideas around and settled on visiting the newly renovated once upon a time Lentini's. Jarfi's Bistro was always a favorite when it was a the Kentucky Center, so we headed to Bardstown Road. We entered with aJ eff Jarfi greeting at the door. The renovations he has made are charming and on our tour of the newly decorated facility, I discovered rooms that I didn't even know were in the building. A beautiful banquet room, and second dining room and a cozy waiting area. On to the dinner, which was, on my ""going out to dinner food scale" a perfect 10, didn't miss a beat. We started out with a tasty pound of mussels in a perfect sauce of white wine, ginger and cilantro that was accompanied with pita bread for dipping. Believe me, every drop was sopped up and savored. My favorite salad was on the menu, so I treated myself and ordered the Tomato Mozzarella, and wish I could have ordered a bigger one as my entree. The tomatoes were flavorful and the kalamata olives added a nice flavor. The balsamic vinegar, which I am very picky about would have been wonderful on vanilla ice cream. Think I'm crazy? Try an aged balsamic vinegar drizzled on yours next time you have a scoop! Well, being perfectly content, and full, I shouldn't have ordered my entree, but the Grilled Portobello on Mashed Potatoes with Vegetables was calling me name. Oh, my gosh, every bite had flavors that were so incredible, I don't think I spoke until it was completely gone. I loved it so much, I was telling one of my employees about it and tried to duplicate it the next day. Not near as good as Jarfi's, but I'll keep attempting to make it just the same. Forrest ordered a variety of his favorites from the sushi bar, comparing it to one of our favorite places, Raw, and rating it as highly. My friend, Pat ordered the Sea Bass. It is on the menu as Awesome Sea Bass and she said every bite was just that. I believe her comment was "that is the best Sea Bass in this city, and I eat seafood whenever I eat out." Two wonderful bottles of Bontera Chardonnay, great conversation and wow, what a wonderful evening. Jeff sent out a platter of desserts, which we all sinfully ate, licking every speck off of our forks. Our server, Bowen, was both accommodating and attentive through the whole 2 hour experience. If you haven't been, do yourself a favor and impress yourself and your friends with this wonderful addition to Bardstown Road.

This is very exciting news! Is it impolite to ask for a ballpark on the amount of the check?
