Bahama Breeze building

by Mark R. » Thu Jun 05, 2008 10:16 pm

Has anyone heard what's going on with the old Bahama Breeze building? It's been a long time since the restaurant closed and the building is just sitting vacant. Seems like the owners would want to unload it in some way instead of just making payments for empty building. Maybe Darden is going to put another of their Brands there? I'd assume it would have to be a Capital Grille or a Season 52 since we have several of each of the other brands. Capitol Grille seems the most likely since that chain seems to be expanding (of course we really need another steak house! ).

Sure seems like a waste from that building just to be sitting there.

I would like to see a Seasons 52 in the area.

I must agree, I've heard nothing but great things about Seasons 52....

For a "chain" they do give their Chef's alot of "latitude" when it comes to menus and specials.....

Much more leeway than J. Alexander's......

I have been to the "Mess". It is a great place and all of the people that i know that have been there like it and have returned....a great addition to a dying strip mall after Krogers moved down the street...

I love Seasons 52 and will be eating in the one in Ft. Lauderdale next week. I'd love to see one here in town. Yum!

I know of no one who has been to the "Mess" on Westport Road would even consider returning. Of course they went with the anticipation that it would be a place where their children would be treated well and have a safe place to play, neither of which was what they found. Their overall impression is that it's a bar with a place to dump your kids while you drink. The food is a mediocre and the service was terrible.

Maybe Dave and Busters should just take over this place and hopefully make a good place for family's to go.

I personally would like to see a Seasons 52 go into the Bahama Breeze building. Their menu sounds interesting in any reviews I've read our positive.

I guess that you are in the Minority about this place...Because they are doing very very well....and the other stores in the strip mall are very happy for the traffic also....

Definitely not in the minority of Louisville HotBytes readers based on this previous thread Incredible Daves. Nobody thought the food was good, the service was worse and there was a lot of concern about children in the bar and their supervision. Maybe some people's opinions have changed but it sure sounded like they had a long way to go.

You are correct on this site...but this site does not reflect the views of all of the people that eat out in Jefferson County.. :)

In this end of town, let's hope an indie will fall in place. The more, the better.

True, but the people on this site have a lot more intelligence and common sense than the general population of Louisville.

Perhaps you might be happier on a site populated with people who agree with you?
