Old Stone Inn web site?

by TP Lowe » Mon Apr 09, 2007 4:39 pm

Could have sworn to have seen one at some point, but now can't find one. Notice Robin doesn't have one linked on the other site, so I'm guessing they just don't have one up. Anyone know otherwise? Thanks much.

Excellent, Ron - thanks so much. Google has a hard time finding them!

And an even harder time mapping them.

Oops, sorry! It was a dead site a while back, but now that it's breathing, I've added a link.

I feel technologically pretty competent and had no hint of it without Ron's help - you would not just have stumbled on it!

Unfortunately, you're probably more competent than whoever did the Website for them. I went back to try to figure out why they're invisible, and it's pretty obvious: Their front page is all graphics, even the name of the restaurant, so when Google "spiders" the site, it can't find anything with "Old Stone Inn" except the tiny copyright line at the bottom, and it doesn't index the page.

Maybe the Old Stone Inn folks did it themselves, but if they paid a developer to do the site, they ought to be having a little talk with whoever it was. (It also renders the site inaccessible to the sight-impaired, a litigable violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act, so they're exposing the proprietors to more than one form of trouble.)

Website Problems

Robin- You're absolutely correct about the indexing...not to mention the title of their top page is "Page Title Here- Microsoft Internet Explorer". LOL
I added it to my Menus site... it's websites like this one that make me have to occasionally check all the links.

I had a devil of a time finding it, but I am just that dedicated to my demanding bosses at Food & Dining Magazine. :P
