Salads To Go

by Andrew B » Mon Jun 02, 2008 3:55 pm

Hello,

Do any of you know of some places in the Louisville area that specialize in doing Salads To Go?

I'd like to research and see what kind of packaging they use.

Thanks in advance,
Andrew B.

Qdoba has sturdy carry-out ware. California Pizza Kitchen and Buca di Beppo have disposables that are nicer than most of my home plates.

Jason's Deli has a takeout salad bar that is very nice. Of course you could always use the Kroger salad bar as an example press!

The Bristol (Highlands) and KT's have the nicest carryout ware we've seen. I save it and use it to send leftovers home with friends after dinner parties etc. Sturdy black plastic bottoms with clear plastic tops. I swear it's nicer than my purchased Tupperware stuff. I've always kind of wondered what it costs them to use it, but I'm sure that it's included in the cost of my carryout bill.

The sturdy black plastic bottoms with clear plastic tops are from my company! I love selling those because of the many applications -- you can microwave in it, freeze it, and put it in the dishwasher!

Unfortunately, we don't have a DEEP salad bowl made from that material (polypropelene). So, I'm looking for customers that want to sell salads in DEEP, all clear salad bowls, made from APET material (which has the best clarity of any plastic container). I've had a few customers that are interested, but in order to get my distributor to stock it, I need to make sure I can find more folks to buy it. I know plenty of people in the Chicago area that use the bowls, but not Louisville -- yet.

Thank you all for your responses :D
