Places to eat/drink/enjoy in Denver

by Broc Smith » Mon Jun 02, 2008 12:20 pm

I'm going to Denver for the 4th of July weekend to see my sister. She moved there today. I'd love some suggestions to get the most out of a 3 1/2 day trip. Thank you.

Falling Rock if you're looking for a good draft beer bar.

There is a brewpub chain downtown....Rock Bottom...decent food and decent beer...probably better beer than some of the national chain brewpubs. Breckenridge has a brewpub by the baseball stadium that does some decent meals made with some of their beers.

If you've got the time...drive to Estes Park, definitely worth it. If you're in Boulder...Mountain Sun is a good spot to visit for food and beer...

Go to what they call "LoDo" or lower downtown, lots of restaurants and bars in that area to walk to and from...

They Flying Dog brewery now has a distillery next store, worth a tour and sip and sample.

Wynkoop Brew Pub in Lo-Do. I second Falling Rock, whose motto is: No Crap on Tap! and decent food. They have a chalkboard that reads: All meals are prepared fresh and to order. We have no micro-waves, so if you want fast food please take your happy meal eating ass down to Mc D's!

Check out The Bull and Bush. It was designed to look like the original one in England. They brew their own beer and the food is great. Don't forget you will be a mile high, so if you drink, keep that in mind. Have a good trip. Cheers.
