Beginning with the July issue, The Highlander will have a section devoted to local restaurants, markets, and area foodies in the 40204 and 40205 zip codes - fertile ground for food lovers. Although we'll be limited in print space, at least at first, we're looking forward to the addition of a new website within the next few months, where we'll have room for lots of additional content.
We're starting with restaurant profiles - not reviews - and a regular Farmers Market corner where we can feature a different farmer each month. July will also have a special feature on grilling. Ideas for website content include Highlander exclusive recipes, chef profiles, a blog, perhaps some special Highlander reader events, and of course links to other interested and interesting sites. Advertising opportunities are also available for the monthly print edition - contact Tom Sfura at 454-3234 for reasonable rates, clean B&W graphics and good market saturation via direct mail.
I'm excited to play a part in this new development, and would love to have your thoughts and suggestions.
