PR: New Menu at Westport General Store

We have just launched our Spring and Summer Menu. Lots of small plates and some new entrées. I also want everyone to know that we have the garden in and the lettuce is up and being used in all of our salads and the broccoli will follow soon. All of it grown naturally without pesticides. We are growing cabbage, tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, Brussels sprouts, peppers, squash, beans and few others...

Southern Tapas

Baby Hot Browns - The local favorite! Toast points topped with fresh roasted turkey, creamy Mornay sauce, crispy bacon and vine-ripe tomatoes $8

Westport Wontons – Deep-fried Wontons stuffed with mushrooms, apples, curry spice and white cheddar, served with a tangy basil sauce $6

Savory Artichoke Fritters – Southern-style deep-fried fritters, served
with a sweet chili dip $7

Fried Bologna and Cheddar- Everyone’s favorite guilty pleasure! Fried bologna and white cheddar with dark mustard and tomato on white bread $5

Fried Green Tomatoes - Breaded and seasoned tomatoes served with smoked chiplote corn salsa $6

Gulf Coast Crab Cakes - Pan seared Gulf Coast style cakes with a spicy cajun Aoli $9

Meatloaf tapas- our southern friend served with a dollop of mash potatoes.
$6

Mussels- steamed in a garlic wine butter sauce. $8

Salads:

Westport Greens- Garden fresh greens topped with sweet tomatoes, peppers, onions, with your choice of dressing..............$4

Caesar Salad - Fresh romaine dressed with a homemade tangy Caesar dressing $6

Add chicken breast, to any salad $4
fish or shrimp $5

Kentucky Bison Burger - Locally produced range raised Buffalo Burger, the leanest meat around, served with your choice of blue cheese coleslaw or fries. $9

Fish Platter –white fish, served with creamy tartar sauce on rye bread with a side of blue cheese coleslaw and fries $10

Red Eye Shrimp- Sautéed shrimp wrapped in Finchville country ham served atop creamy Weisenberger grits and a side of collard greens $17

Summer Snapper- fresh snapper filet with fruit salsa served with rice and sautéed vegetables. $19

Southern Style Pork loin Chop - Fried center cut pork loin chop served over collard greens with mashed potatoes and creamy white gravy $16

Chicken Breast Saltimbocca – Our Signature Dish! With thinly sliced Finchville country ham, provolone cheese, and fresh sage-lemon butter, served with "dirty rice" and seasonal vegetables $17

Steak Nugent- New York strip served with sautéed mushrooms and choice of two sides. $20

Bison Rib-eye - Locally produced range-raised Bison rib eye, grilled to your liking, and topped with béarnaise, fried onion strings, and served with your choice of two sides $25

Westport twilight Filet of Beef- Tender grilled filet mignon topped with a garlic ginger lite soy sauce, served with your choice of two sides $28

Roasted Chicken breast- Airline breast, brined and rubbed with basil then roasted to perfection, served with mash potatoes and vegetables $15


Chicken Buccatini – Chicken and Pasta in a rich tomato cream sauce……..$12



Vegetarian
Black-eyed pea stew black-eyed peas, collard greens onion and peppers served over rice $11 (vegan)

Eggplant Napoleon - Layered, breaded eggplant, with fresh provolone and chunky tomatoes, basil, and garlic sauce, served over Farfalle pasta with seasonal vegetables $14

Grilled vegetable platter- Fresh seasonal vegatables, served with creamy Weisenberger grits $10

Pasta Pomodoro - Farfalle, tossed with fresh basil, tomatoes, garlic,
and extra virgin olive oil................................................................$11


For the Kids (Kids under 12 only please. We keep the prices down so families can eat out together. Adults will be charged an additional $2)
Hot Dog or Grilled Cheese with fries $4
Chicken Strips, served with fries. $5
Peanut Butter and Jelly $3
Buttered noodles with cheese $4
Lil’ Fish and Chips $4
Lil’ Burger with pickle and fries $5

All soft drinks, coffee and tea are $1.80

Homemade Desserts - $5

Great Menu Willie!! I alway's loved that "Ted Nugent" steak and I'm glad you brought it back for the Spring.......It's....got me in a stranglehold baby...and it ROCKS!! LOL. I'll be out soon to check out the new grub. Dave

A small-sized hot brown as an appetizer is a brilliant idea. I love the taste of a good hot brown, but consuming a huge platter of bacon, bread and mornay can begin to feel a bit gluttonous after more than a few bites.

Great sounding menu from top to bottom! The only problem will be deciding what to get since so many items look great. As noted above the small bite of Hot Brown sounds like a great starter as do many of the others. Maybe a simpler of the small bites is the answer for dinner. 8)
