Welcome to the Louisville Restaurants Forum, a civil place for the intelligent discussion of the local restaurant scene and just about any other topic related to food and drink in and around Louisville.
Bistro 535 in Shelbyville will announce in the Shelbyville Newspaper tomorrow that they have sold. Bill Hisle of Grisanti fame and his cousin Stuart who have owned the place for 15 years said they were not for sale, but someone made them an offer they couldn't refuse. They also own Cattleman's Roadhouse in Shelbyville and are opening one in Frankfort next week and more to come in the future. This sell will enable them to spend more time on opening more Cattleman's and they also have a huge catering business that keeps getting larger. Good luck to Bill and Stuart. We will miss their presence at Bistro. And good luck to the new owner. His name will be in the paper tomorrow.
Wow. This is huge news for me. Bistro was my home for about 6 years. I hope the new owners treat it well, it is a nice little store. Best luck to Bill and Stu. Two cats who really know how to work the business. Cattleman's has been very successful and we have enjoyed our visits there tremendously. Wow.

Best of luck to Bill. He catered two family events for us and the food was outstanding. Only guy I know who could serve panko encrusted sea bass to 150 and have it all come out hot, crisp and fabulous. Not to mention kosher. Don't get me started on his french toast for brunch.
visited there sometime back, found it charming, good food & service.
returned today, ordered lasagna. was served what appeared to be canned spaghetti sauce with a heavy cheesiness that any 10-yr-old boy would love. but hardly anyone else.
no water. iced tea in a 6-oz wineglass [w/hardly a refill]. terrible food, terrible service.
it's changed hands allright, and not for the better. can't recall a more lackadaisical server. or crappier food.
