Science Hill Inn

OH WOW........

Well, as promised, my sister and I stuck to the family tradition of taking Mom out her choice of buffet on the Sunday after Mother's Day......

The requested place was Science Hill Inn in Shelbyville. Beautiful day for the drive.

The food was incredable. Country Ham, Corn Pudding, Brocolli Casserole, Tomato Aspic (ok, I must confess, I pigged on the Aspic and almost made myself sick), Asparagus, Corn Pudding, Bar B Q Pork Roast, Fried Chicken, and Fried Hot Water Cornbread (God, I'm drooling just writing this). Also, wonderful salads and fruit as well.

For dessert (I shouldn't have, but I did) I ordered the Blueberry Crisp.......TO DIE FOR.......not too sweet, in a shortbread "crisp" with vanilla ice cream.

$24 per adult......not bad for what it is. Recommend reservations. Also, it's the type of place that I will do a jacket and tie for, without question, although they don't require it.
If life's a Banquet, what's with all the Tofu?

Cheers!

We used to go there during the Christmas season for the buffet or a Saturday lunch. It's been a few years and after reading your post....I need to go back....soon.
