On the other hand, it's such an excellent location, for the right tenant it might be worth grappling with both those issues.

I'd love to see that space turned into a small neighborhood grocery. A Burgers on Frankfort Ave. for those of us in walking distance.

Great idea!!! I'm so proud of the Indy status on Frankfort and that is the one thing truly missing. Ooohhh... Somebody, please do that!

I'd Looovve to see Rainbow Blossom move further inland. I want the best success for them and don't wish for further competition. My fear is that they will not survive the monopoly of their corporate progressors. They would thrive in a neighborhood like Crescent Hill. Are you listening, Auerbachs?! I don't surmise to know the health of your operations, but I want you closer to me.

Big Dave's and Mom's and about a dozen other restaurant properties are shown for sale or lease by the Houston Group in the current issue of Food & Dining (page 10). Big Dave's is listed at $1,375,000 and Mom's at $740,000. I assume those are asking prices; no info on lease particulars.

The Houston Group might be a good spot for Tommy to hit, in fact. They represent quite a few restaurant properties. Click http://www.thehoustongroup.net or call (502) 419-7799.
Here's a thought.....maybe they can find a cool spot up on Hurstbourne?? The old Garrett's is off the beaten path a touch, but an indi taking on chain land (no offense to Limestone) would be a major coup de gras! To slay some of those giants on their own turf would be epic!!

I agree...

I feel(as a foodservice pro) that with enough cash(at least 1.5 mill. at the least to redo the neglect in the back of the house and help redo the front of the house areas), the structure seems sound enough to do a semi-major overhaul on the building that used to be Frank's ....Ummm .....I mean Garrett's.

This location would seem to be more than an ideal spot to re-aqauant Louisville to Furlong's...Just my 2 cent's

Make it as beautiful as when it was Lantrys' Roadhouse. I though the black/white/red of Garrents looked a bit cliche' after the tasteful interior of Langtrrys.
