I don't have much information beyond that, but I do know they have live music many evenings.

I'm going to have to disagree with Robert on this one. I thought the Old Stone Inn had wonderful food.

Wanted to bump this dated thread to see if anyone has made to the Stone Inn recently...

If I remember the chatter, there was talk about it closing and then reopening under new management. Although there is some debate on the quality of its food, my gf and I enjoy getting out of Louisville and going there to celebrate. She will soon be going to Spain for a 9-month trip, so we thought we'd go back and celebrate. Hoping someone's been recently and can give an update/review.

Danke.

My wife and I went a couple of months ago (shortly after they re-opened) and we were very disappointed. Although we walked right in, it took probably 10 minutes for us to place drink orders. Once the bar figured out the drink orders (my wife received the wrong specialty drink) and took our food order,it took well over an hour for us to actually get our food. Literally, tables that were seated well after us were receiving their food, eating, paying and leaving.

When caught our servers attention to ask about the delay, we were told that another table had received my wifes meal and that they had to start over. While I don't really recall anything negative about my food, my wife's fried chicken (maybe in haste to get it out after the lllooonnnggg delay) was pink and appeared to be bloody. ugh.

By the time the server came back to check on us, I had already finished my meal (and shared a goodly portion with my wife). Although the server assured us that they could make my wife another plate, we were done and simply requested that it be removed from the bill. Here, we were told that she would have to check with the manager to see if she could take off the chicken. Here's my real problem with the place, notwithstanding the numerous problems with our meal (flubbed drink orders, food not received, food not cooked properly) the manager, who we saw wandering around the dining room and talking to other tables, never stopped by our table at any point to acknowledge the problems. Its unfortunate, but I doubt if we'll ever go back simply because of the lack of acknowledgment on the part of the manager.

We went to the Inn last night. The place was pretty full and we had to wait a bit for the hostess who was setting up a table on the patio. Other than that the service was spot on. The four of us all gave a thumbs up for our dinners. The favorite of the table seemed to be the chicken livers. The chicken with artichokes got a very good review as well. I went with the steak special which was done just how I asked(very rare), served with yukon gold mashed potatoes and some awesome onion rings. I wouldnt say the food is anything that is going to turn heads and create a buzz, but it dosent try to either. I would say it is pretty straight forward cusine served in a nice atmosphere. I dont really see the comparsion to Claudia Sanders other than the location and the fact they serve a fried chicken dish. Old stone is more refined with much better service. To me it has a very different vibe. For Shelby co. area its a pretty good option. This was my first time there and am not familiar with the history of the palce so I cant say its better or worse than before. we had a nice meal and plan on going back in the future.
The tall one wants white toast, dry, with nothin' on it.
And the short one wants four whole fried chickens, and a Coke.

Wow Keith, that evening sucked. To your credit, you showed much more restraint than I probably would have after all that had transpired and was told by the 'server' she would see about the charge, I think I would have just walked out (done it before).

My husband and I literally live 2 min. from there in Simpsonville. We've been twice. The first time we had great service and food. The second time was not good at all. The food was fine, nothing really wrong with it. However, we were seated in a room that is more like a gateway for their larger room in back where they were having a wedding reception. We had a constant stream of people going in and out the whole time. We were seated at a little table that had folding chairs. You know the kind you sit in that are brown metal and have a little plastic cushion? Yeah, I'm not paying that much money for a meal to sit on folding metal chairs. So I asked to have the wooden chairs at a nearby unused table. I was met with a sigh and they accomodated me. However, it was not a very relaxing nice dinner. Like I said, the food wasn't bad, just lackluster.
