Any Derby Day evening openings/suggestions for two?

by Steve Magruder » Wed Apr 30, 2008 1:59 am

I realize I'm probably waiting too late to plan a Derby night restaurant outing, but I'd like to take a date to a nice restaurant in town. I'm not really picky about what restaurant it is, as long as the restaurant requires reservations and is moderately priced or above -- I'm even willing to spend a lot on this one.

Any suggestions? I can make a reservation anytime on Wednesday for it.

Thanks!

You probably are. Still, try OpenTable.com - also, I saw an Email go by yesterday from Westport General Store indicating they still had some space for their big Derby party.

Caffe Perusa still has openings. 9200 Taylorsville Road. 491-5459. Best to call after 5 pm to make a reservation. I should know. I work there.
Not just self promotion, I would eat there if I had the night off.

Sounds like an excellent choice. Is there a menu online I can peruse?

Thanks for the suggestion. I know I'm doing this very late, but this is how I handle holiday shopping as well. :)

I went ahead and used OpenTable to make a reservation at a restaurant downtown. There were actually quite a few openings for Saturday night at several restaurants.
