Seafood Connection or Highlands Seafood?

by Kim H » Fri Apr 25, 2008 9:50 pm

This probably belongs on the Kitchen page, but I'm hoping for a quicker response. I want to grill some fish this weekend, but I'm not sure what just yet. I was wondering if you all had an opinion on where we should go for a good, fresh selection, that offers quality as well as good service/advice. I have always had such friendly service at Seafood Connection, but Highlands might have a bigger selection. I'm open to other suggestions as well. Thoughts?

Well, I might be a little bias because my wife is the manager at Highland Fish Market, but they do a great job over there. The store is huge, having recently expanded last year and they always have between 13-15 different types of fresh fish in the case. They also always have fresh dry sea scallops, lots of diffrent shrimp, mussels, clams, oysters, crab meat and live lobsters. Plus a lot of freezer space crab legs, frog legs and so on. They make their own dips, sauces and some fish dishes that are oven ready. They will talk you through any recipe or give advice.
You can check their website at http://www.highlandfish.com for recipes and weekly online specials.

I like them both and pretty much base my decision on location ... with extra credit to St. Matthews Seafood Connection for having a little lunch counter on the premises.
