With all the threads on pizza here I don't think I've seen this place mentioned more than once since they changed owners and names. I stopped in for the second time today and had a very, very respectable slice of NY style pizza.

We went once and had decent pizza but a service experience so bad that it may rank in my Ten Worst Ever. It was so bad that I figured I needed to give them a second chance before writing about it, and I've not yet been willing to go back. Without going into details, it appeared that the owner had left the building and put his young sons in charge, and they weren't well equipped to do the job ...

Plainview, former Brick Oven Pizza, just down the block from Joe's OK Bayou.

That's right, forgot. Hey we are testing a thin crust. Could be out after Derby.

We get pizza from there often. The new owners still seem a bit overwhelmed, but the pizza has been consistently good the last few months, IMO. They got new ovens, and seem to be on top of the quality. Definitely worth a try-- and a great value at lunch. The only complaint is that they seem to have odd hours, not open until 6 on sat, closed sun & monday, and usually close by 9 during the week.

As vegetarians, I can only vouch for the cheese & veggie options, but very tasty. :D

I havent gone back there since two very questionable service issues either. A friend of mine lives in delivery range and they consistently got his order wrong since changing hands. It upsets me because I adored the place when it was Fat Tony's. Oh well ,now more pizza places keep opening up over here by me in Jeff so I dont have to worry too much.
I am the original Mike G, never mind the impostor.

I am kind of a big deal.
