I have actually become a big fan of Jefferson Reserve as of late. Very smooth, really nice flavor. For a rye I like the Sazerac 18-year the best. It's got a really strong, spicy flavor.. and best of all you can use it to make the "Sazerac cocktail".

The Sazerac 18 yr is hands down my favorite as far as ryes go; with Pappy 13 yr rye as a close runner up.

I put vegetables in your desserts, white chocolate with your fish and other nonsense stuff that you think shouldn't make sense, but coax the nonsense into something that makes complete sense in your mouth. Just open your mind, mouth and eat.

Did you all see the write up in the Features section of the Courier this morning? I never thought I would see a column about Ancient Ancient Age in my life.

I like this Pableaux Johnson guy. AAA is a steal at that price.

Bourbon Enthusiasts ... perhaps I can entice you to watch the Derby Parade, Thursday May 1rst. We are hosting a free bourbon tasting featuring and hosted by Kentucky Bourbon Distillers..as well as Kentucky Ale beers on Parade day from 4pm - 8pm. These guys produce the vintage collection (17yr, 21yr, 23 yr, 23 rye) as well as Rowan's Creek, Noah's Mill, and the new WIllet, among other things. Some come by, start your derby weekend early taste some good stuff.. and catch the Derby Parade too. We are located between the Brown Hotel and Palace Theater on Fourth Street. If I dont bump into you..have a good Derby weekend.

I absolutely agree that Old Forrester is the best for mixing. However, when it comes to sipping it straight or maybe a couple of ice cubes and a splach of water, my drugs of choice are Four Roses Single Barrel, Woodford and Bulleit.

Wild Turkey is good when I'm on the west coast when you order a Basil Hayden's and they look at you cross-eyed.

I think the regular Weller is great, but I can't seem to find it anywhere lately!

Bargain brand: Old Forester

Sipping: Van Winkle 15, Wathens, I keep hearing wonderful things about the Willet Family reserve

Suprisingly no love for Blanton's on here...that's a good bottle of whiskey, not my ultimate fav...but a good selection.

Everyday on the rocks:
Buffalo Trace
Bulliet

Budget/Mixer:
Ancient Age (Thanks for the tip y'all)
WL Weller

Special:
George T. Stagg (when available)
Van Winkle 12yr (I prefer it to the older ones)
Vintage 17yr (tried it at Bourbon's a couple weeks ago, yum!)
Blanton's (since so one else mentioned it... although my bottle was a gift, and I'd probably buy one of the above first)
Elmer T. Lee
Eagle Rare

Woodford is too polite for me.
My wife will only drink Makers, so we always have some at the house.
