Has anyone been to Angio's Italian Restaurant on Old Bardstown Road, L'ville? If you have how was it and do they have a website? I haven't been able to find anything online or on the CJ. :)

I'm not looking at my notes, so I'm not absolutely sure I have the same place in mind. But if you're thinking about Old Bardstown in Buechel, close to the Derby City Antique Mall, it's a small, neighborhoodish kind of place, nice enough, real good pizza and, I assume, Italian sandwiches and pasta. I remember thinking the pizza was above the median for Louisville style. But it's pretty basic in decor and mood - I got the impression it might have been a converted auto-service station - not much for wax-covered Chianti bottles or plastic grape leaves.

That kind of unmoderated, national site isn't much use, with its "great pizza" posts from fans using pseudonyms. Let's not clog up threads with this kind of outside links unless they actually add value.

Have you eaten at Angio's? If so, I'd much rather have you contribute actual knowledge to this discussion.

Angio's is decent for a neighborhood eatery. I wouldnt go out of my way to eat here though. I use to work in this area and Angio's was a regular lunch time spot. The pizza was good, but I usually got the pizza steak hoagie which I think they called a stromboli.

The pizza is just ok. Their sausage is quite peppery, which I kinda like, but outside of that, you can find better......
