A new burger joint on Hurstbourne Ln??

by Bryan Shepherd » Wed Mar 12, 2008 7:22 pm

I saw a sign on Hurstbourne Ln, in the strip center where Pier 1 and Chuck E. Cheese reside talking about a new hamburger joint hiring. Is anyone aware of this?? It is at the corner of Hurstbourne and Taylorsville Rd. I think it is called "Home run Burgers"??

I believe it is a relation to Kip's Kove, or something like that.

In my neck of the woods...

I will keep a close eye on the place to see what may develop...

I do like a TASTY burger..Mind if I have some of your beverage to wash this DOWN?

It looks like Home Run Burgers took over the deli style soup/sandwich shop between Quizno's and Chuck E. Cheese. I can't remember the name of the sandwich shop, but I think it was a franchise without the franchise feel.

Can anyone help??

Home Run Burgers and Fries is now open and I ate lunch there today.

They have hamburgers, hot dogs, fries and drinks. A second menu sign lists the 20+ possible toppings you can have on your burger. A sign says they cook burgers to order, but I wasn't asked how I wanted mine done, and it came out well. Still pretty tasty, with a nice amount of mayo and mustard, lettuce and grilled onions, just as I'd ordered, but I would've much preferred medium. The bun is pretty nice as well, much better than Backyard's or Kaelin's. The cajun fries were the biggest dissapointment; it seemed as if they were either overcooked or re-fried, and there was SO MUCH salt on them I found them hard to eat.

The total for a double bacon cheeseburger, cajun fries and a drink was $9.40, which, on reflection, seems a bit high. I'm planning on going again next week and trying a hot dog and a rarer burger.

Incredibly average...Not bad by any means...but not that great either...Mr Kiper has just a little more work to do...
