Anyone going to the 2/28 wine dinner at Corbett's?

by Andrea E » Sun Feb 24, 2008 12:17 pm

We are going out for a special evening at Corbett's and would love to meet up with any forumites! It sounds like a fantastic menu with wine pairings. It's been quite a while since we were able to go out, what with the babies and all (6-month old infant and 3-month-old business). Post here or PM me if you're interested in sharing a table.

Here are the details:

Corbett's "An American Place," 5050 Norton Healthcare Blvd. in Old Brownsboro Crossing, will host a winemaker's dinner Thursday, beginning at 6 p.m. California winemaker Adam La Zarre of Wimbledon Wines will be on hand to discuss his wines.

The first course will be braised veal cheek ravioli with crispy sweetbreads, served with a Hahn Estate pinot noir. The salad course will be Grateful Greens, apples, strawberries and duck confit, paired with a Hahn Estate dry rosé.

A venison loin with smoked sweet potato and winter vegetables will be served with a Hahn Estate meritage, followed by a lamb chop with potato and foie gras, paired with a Grand Reserve Smith & Hook cabernet sauvignon. Dessert will be a maple panna cotta with fig and cranberry compote, paired with a Mendelson muscat dessert wine. Cost is $75. Call (502) 327-5058.

I wish we could join you, Andrea ... 'fraid we're shooting the Corbett's budget at the Dining for Dan benefit not long after, though.

You're in for a treat, though! I've tried most of the dishes on that menu and they are bodacious, to use a technical term. That ravioli and sweetbread is amazing!
