Tous les Jours, SGD Dubu planned near Saraga

A French-Asian bakery and a Korean restaurant are planned in the Forum Center, on Hurstbourne Parkway just north of Shelbyville Road. They’ll be across the parking lot from the new Saraga international grocery, and I assume they’re connected with that development. I think all three businesses will open next year.

Tous les Jours is a bakery chain that offers a variety of French and Asian breads, cakes and pastries. It’s owned by one of the big South Korean companies, but the menu seems to be more French than Korean.

SGD Dubu is a Korean restaurant chain with about 20 locations in the U.S. It has a relatively short menu, including bibimbap and Korean BBQ. (SGD stands for Sogong-dong, a neighborhood in Seoul.)

We're seeing the likes of La Madeleine, Pret a Manger, Le Pain Quotidien, etc. cropping up around the cool cities for quite some time while we're still getting donut shops nouveau. So kudos and hopefully it will be part of a trend.

I peeked into Saraga earlier this afternoon. They have several banners hanging outside indicating an imminent opening. Its hard to see much inside, but checkout counters are installed, sheves, boxes, all kinds of stuff. It seems like the concept is one of bringing folks together to eat, shop for food, and hang around. I look forward to this and hope it doesn't disappoint.
